Helping every child connect and thrive
Our story is also about the small details that make life meaningful — curiosity, kindness, and connections that last.
Dr Cedric LeClercq
MB, Bchir, FRCPsych
Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist,
Consultant Psychiatrist
I am a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and in general psychiatry and am fully trained and qualified Medical Doctor. I am accredited and registered as a specialist with the General Medical Council (GMC number 7788726).
I’m a Royal College of Psychiatry Specialist Associate. After completing my initial medical degree in Belgium (Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery-Doctor of medicine, surgery and childbirth) at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), I completed a post-graduate specialist training in the speciality of general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry (5 years). I also completed a post-graduate training in family therapy (4 years). I’m a member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA) since 2002. I also trained in on Esther Bick’s infant observation method.
During my years in Belgium, I worked in private practice and in various hospital units. I was Consultant for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit at CHR Citadelle, Liège, Belgium (Public Health Service), and Founder and Manager of an Outpatient Unit « Cognition and Development. »
I also worked as a Clinical Supervisor for Multidisciplinary Teams working in the field of Child neglect and abuse and Medical Director of a multidisciplinary team for children with severe learning difficulties (school and rehabilitation center), “Les Blés d’Or”, in Brussels.
In 2015, Dr.Auror Boulard and I co-founded Le Centre des Jardins de Floreffe, a private clinic dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and their families living with ADHD, ASD, and other forms of neurodiversity.
I now live in London, having taken up a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist post within the NHS.
I have a multilingual background speaking French as a first language and English fluently. I understand questions about the adjustment difficulties that families may encounter while settling within a new culture. I also enjoy using mixed cultural and languages background as an opportunity to adapt and thrive.
I have devoted my career to clinical work, with a deep commitment to assessing and supporting children, adolescents, adults, and their families. Alongside my clinical practice, I also write poetry, tales, and novels. I believe that being a writer complements my therapeutic work—storytelling can offer patients a powerful way to reshape and reclaim their own narratives. In my view, storytelling and psychological healing are deeply interconnected.
